You heard that right, guys and gals, the PPF is officially open for submissions! We’re looking for creative, inspiring and engaging poetry from around Calgary and beyond to turn into beautiful works of poetic graffiti. And we know you have some!
Submissions open today, Thursday, March 21, and all poetry must be received by 5:00pm (MDT) on Friday, May 18, 2012. As we’re Calgary-centric, the majority of the works included in the three-day festival will come from Calgary and area poets. As we did last year, in 2012 we’ll include up to five (5) poems from the rest of Canada and beyond, so don’t let location deter you!

And visual artists, we didn’t forget about you! We’re already looking for Calgary and area-based artists interested in volunteering their expertise to create our large-scale peices that will be displayed during our Poetic Graffiti walks. Selected poetry submissions will be turned into Poetic Graffiti, large-scale works of art that blend poetry and graphic elements. The finished pieces will be hung up in a few sidestreets in Kensington.
